New computer!!

So the Hubby and I finally got our new computer. It took a little bit of time, but it's finally set up and running!! It's glorious! We absolutely love it!

Buying it on the other hand wasn't so glorious. We scoped out BestBuy last Sunday (Feb 15) and found a desktop and monitor that we loved. I wrote down all the information, including the prices, so we could run it past our more computer-literate family. [Not that we're stupid when it comes to computers. We just wanted to find out if they thought it was worth the money or if we should keep looking.]. When we returned on Wednesday evening to buy the computer, suddenly the monitor that we had originally wanted jumped $70 in 3 days!!! It wasn't on sale at all on Sunday, even though the sales guy claimed that the price that we saw on Sunday should be the same as the price on Wednesday because all their sales start on Sunday. Hubby and I weren't impressed and we ended up going with a smaller monitor (20" compared to the 22" we originally wanted), for almost $100 less. I must say I do like the monitor we went with though. Even though it's stationary and we can't adjust it, I like the features of this monitor way better. I guess in the end, it all worked out and we have a brand spankin new desktop computer!! Yay for us!!

Other news:
  • I am 6 DPO and have absolutely no symptoms - no tenderness in my bbs, no freaky skin break outs, no bloatedness, nothing. Maybe it's a good thing? Who knows...
  • I have only one week of work left. Thank goodness!! After the past 2 days, I just wanted to quit. Thank goodness the end of my job is in sight. Five more working days. Six more week days. I'm not complaining.
  • I saw a GI doctor last week. She wants me to do a barium x-ray procedure so they can see if I have Crohns. I have it scheduled for the first week in March, but if I get a BFP before that, they'll have to find another way to figure out what's wrong with me. Why couldn't my base doctor just refer me back in November so I wouldn't be in this predicament? *sigh*

Quick update

So, our home computer is currently on the fritz. It sounds more like an airplane engine starting up than a laptop quietly running. So, my updates and posts will most likely be few and far between until we can get a new one (hopefully soon!).

Here's what's happened so far:

* The Clomid this time around wasn't so nice! Every night so far, I've gotten splitting headaches, and the hot flashes/night sweats are horrendous! It's amazing I've gotten any sleep at all lately.

* I've taken my Tussin like a good girl - 2 tsp 3 times a day.

* OPKs are not for me. Period. I figured I'd try them this cycle so we could have a heads up as far as my possible O date. Yeah, my test line got increasingly lighter even though I hadn't O'd. Serious?!?! Yeah...OPKs won't be part of our TTCing anymore. Plus, they take forever to get results! I don't have that much time or patience to wait around for a super faint line at CD12. Not going to happen.

* Ultrasounds:

  • I had my first one on Wednesday. It showed:
    - 4.4 cm endometrial thickness
    - Left Ovary: 10, 9, and 7 mm and 10 others that were less than 10 mm
    - Right Ovary: 16, 15, and 15 mm and 15 others that were less than 10 mm
  • Friday's U/S:
    - Right follies had grown to 17 mm, 15 mm, and 13 mm.
    - Left follies were shrinking. (fine by me)
  • Today's U/S:
    - 8.4 endometrial thickness!! heck yeah!
    - Right follie had hit 18!!

* HCG shots hurt like heck. For those that haven't had the joy of getting this shot injected into your tushy, don't feel left out. I had my shot around 8:45 this morning, and right now, my butt feels like I've done 100 squats on my left side only. If it still hurts like this tomorrow, I'm calling the doctor. Infertility shouldn't come with pain like this. ugh...

As for other health news, I saw a GI doctor yesterday. She went over my bagillion lab tests and my symptoms and all that jazz. At first, she said that I was a classic Celiac patient, but since my lab tests came back negative for Celiac, I now fit the bill of a possible Crohn's patient. Yeah, not good. I have a test that I have to do on Wednesday morning to see if in fact it is Crohn's or not. I'm not looking forward to it, but if it helps get some answers, it'll be worth it. I liked the physician that I saw though. She was super thorough and seemed to have a pretty good plan for what I need to do next. Now, if only I could get some answers before we move, I'd be super impressed!!

Add to that the fact that I have 10 working days left at my job, and I'd say life is pretty peachy.

We're all in!

This cycle, I've decided to do it all. I'm taking 100mg of Clomid CD3-7, doing ultrasounds on days 11 and 13 to check the follies, drinking Tussin regularly (starting tomorrow!), temping, and even OPKing for the first time ever. I figured if we're going to actually have a decent shot at this cycle, I'm going to do all I can to help!

I spoke to my doctor last week cuz I had to have him sign the ultrasound orders for me. I told him I decided to do the ultrasounds this cycle, and he said "Good. I'm excited for you!" I just love my doc. It's great to know that he's just as much into this as Hubby and I are. What a great cheering section - my doctor and his nurse! :)

On an even better note, I have 14 days of work left! I couldn't be more excited!! Yay!!
