I was lurking on the Web.MD TTC boards just a few minutes ago, and I must say that newbies infuriate me at times. Since it's probably not proper etiquette for me to voice my opinion on there, I thought I'd voice it here! Warning: I may get a little edgy with this post.
As a TTCer who is nearing her 19th cycle and is past the 2 year mark, I've heard lots of stories and other women's struggles to have a baby and even have personally experienced the roller coaster of hormones and emotions that occur as a result of TTC. What I don't get is stuff like this [The following are not word for word quotes from posts. They are merely examples of what I've read on boards.]:
"Why is it taking so long?" Then you look at their signature and see they are only on C3! C3!!!! Honestly...
"Should I go see my doctor to find out why we're not pregnant?" and they haven't even hit the 6 month mark and they're in their 20's.
"It's never going to happen!" Oh pity party. Try for a year, then say that. I don't want to read that when you've only been trying for the past couple of months.
"I'm 5 days late for my period. My boobs are so tender and I'm tired all the time. Should I take a HPT?" Umm yeah... most normal obsessive women who are TTC would have tested at least 7-10 times by the time they're 5 days late.
"I just know I'm pregnant, but my HPTs keep coming back negative. The test at the doctor's was negative too, but I just know I'm pregnant. Is there a chance the tests could be wrong?" Most likely, no. The tests at the docs are usually very reliable. In very very rare cases, women get false negatives, but more than likely, you'll get a false positive before you get a false negative.
"I got my period April 20. My boyfriend and I had sex last night. Is there a chance that I could be pregnant?" Umm, did you pay attention in health class at all? Besides, if you don't want a baby, then I suggest either A) using condoms (definitely not my first choice though), B) getting on birth control (Planned Parenthood helps), or C) not having sex at all (the only surefire way you won't get knocked up.
"I never thought this day would come!" when they post their BFP news after 5 months. That sentence should be reserved only for those women who have TTC 2+ years. Face infertility then you have the right to say that. Otherwise, I don't want to hear it.
Okay, so I'm normally not like this, I promise. But some people's ignorace of things really irritates my infertile self. I swear that some women don't pay attention at all during health class when it comes to their bodies. Granted, I'm not an expert by any means, but I do know enough to not ask stupid questions. ugh...
On a lighter note though, I found an RE that I really like, based on the website. Now I just need to meet with my doctor here on base and get a referral and get the ball rolling again. Looks like May will be a DIY month for us - no meds, no U/S, no nothing except good old BBTing and BDing! lucky us! haha
And a random question....does anyone know how to get a lysol smell out of a fridge? The previous people who lived in our house scrubbed the inside of the fridge with lysol. I've wiped it all out with plain ol' dishwater and even put bowls of baking soda in it thinking that would help. Yeah, not so much. I need some new ideas...

Colorado is my new home!
So, we got here last Monday and it has been crazy hectic ever since! Monday we signed papers for the house and unloaded and returned the rental truck. Tuesday, the movers came and delivered a bagillion boxes along with all of our furniture. Wednesday we had to do grocery shopping cuz I was sick of eating out and eating crap food. Thursday we spent the morning unpacking boxes and the afternoon hitting the shopping centers picking up stuff we needed for the house. Friday, we finally got our internet and cable hooked up (and what a headache it's been!). Yesterday, we didn't do much of anything cuz we are sick of unpacking and trying to find a place to put all our things. [The house we live in is way smaller than anything we've lived in before.] Today, we tried out a new church and decided to hit up the membership/learn more about the church meeting tonight as well. *sigh* It doesn't look like much when I type it all out, but trust me, come May 1, I'm going to be more than ready for a massage and a pedicure. I'll need it by that time!!
As for other news...I got my HCG trigger on CD11!! I had a follie at 2.4 that day!! Never have I had it that insanely early, but I wasn't going to complain. Hubby and I got in a lot of BDing during that week, and we learned (okay, possible TMI ahead) that BDing on an air mattress is not only possible, but it sure is a lot of fun! (I warned you!!) Needless to say, we didn't have to worry about BDing at my parents, so that was good. Tomorrow will be the make or break day though. I'll be 14/15 DPO so we'll see what my temp does. If not, I guess we'll be starting again here in CO. I did some web-research today on an RE here in the city, and his success rates for fresh IVF cycles using the patient's own eggs were in the mid-70% range for my age, which I don't think is too shabby. I'm really hoping we don't have to go that far, but we'll see. Who knows, maybe we won't even need to go see him! If we do though, at least I know that we don't have to drive an hour for appointments, as I would have had to do in NoDak. At least there's one perk to living in a bigger city!
I know there's a ton more I could write, but Hubby and I are exhausted and he has to work tomorrow at 7:30, so I think we'll be hitting the hay soon. I'm going to try to post pics soon, so y'all can enjoy our scenery some too!

Move update!
Whew! It's been a crazy week so far, and the rest will only get crazier!!
Yesterday I had a splitting headache all day so I didn't get everything done that I had planned on doing. So, that meant that today I would have a lot of things on my plate! Needless to say though, we got everything done that we wanted to, and I think we're good to have the movers come tomorrow morning. I'll be so glad to be settled into the new place in Colorado in a couple of weeks. I'll be able to relax and just enjoy life again instead of stressing about everything.
Well, we have our house all lined up and the movers scheduled to come get our things. We also made our hotel reservations for the half-way point of our drive, so things are coming together quite well. I'm sure by Saturday I'll be "too pooped to poop" as my mom used to say. My eyes are getting droopy as I type right now. Not good.
But alas, this will probably be my last entry until we get things set up again in Colorado! Unless I get really bored and go to the library to use the computers there. We'll see.
As for TTC, I decided to do a final month with my NoDak doctor. I took my last Clomid pill today, so now it's a waiting game. I go in for follie checks on Saturday and Monday, and, if things continue as they have in the past, I'll probably have one Tuesday as well followed by the HCG trigger shot. Hubby was asking me about how things are going to work this month. With our furniture gone, we'll be sleeping on an air mattress (not quite sure how conducive those are to BDing...guess we'll find out!). Plus, we'll be spending a few days at my parents, so he's wondering about that too. I told him that I'd talk to the nurses though to see if we could do an IUI this month just because of the crazy schedules we have this next week! If not though, we'll just get in some serious BDing here at home!! (Not that I'll complain one bit...)
Okay, so there's my updates and future plans as of now. And, as far as I can tell, this will most likely be my last NoDak post forever! How depressing (yeah right...)! So without further ado, I bid ye a good night and many blessed days ahead!

super quick update
This past week has been insane for me, and the next couple of weeks are no exceptions by any means!! Here's a really short update though:
* The dogs are at my parents in prep for us to move.
* The baby shower was a lot of fun yesterday.
* C18 started on Aprils fool's day, as expected.
* We have 11 more days until we leave this place!!
