2 More Days!

Today is super exciting because........we only have 2 more days of living in this house with the stinky neighbors!!  I can't wait!!  Tomorrow we'll be getting the keys to the new place and moving a few things over ourselves.  Saturday though, we'll be having a few friends (okay...like 12 friends) coming over to help us move everything else!  (I bribed them with homemade cinnamon rolls and pizza.)  Now I probably shouldn't be writing a blog post since I still have packing to do, but I just couldn't help it.  I'm giddy with excitement!!!

Aside from the moving thing...

I'm still waiting on one place for my surgery records so I can send all my recs down to Dr. K.  I may just have to give them a call again and see what's up!  It's been nearly 3 weeks since I first contacted them.  Granted, the lady did tell me that they would have to go through the computers to see if my surgery was saved on one of them, but still!!  It shouldn't take this long.  And the fact that that is all I'm waiting for?  I-Yi-Yi...  Whodathunk it would be this long or this hard of a struggle trying to get medical records.  I've never had this problem before.  Ever.

So I'll keep this short since I hear those empty boxes calling my name.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend (aside from the crazy blizzards and snow up north)!

Welcome 2010!

Happy New Year to everyone!  It's hard to believe that we are already starting a new decade.  Time has gone by so fast, but I'm definitely looking forward to what this year will bring!

Since most people usually reflect on the past year, I thought I'd do something different.  I'm going to write a list of a few things that I'm looking forward to this year.

1.  Moving into a new house.
2.  Getting away from the stinky neighbors.  (okay 1 & 2 kinda go together)
3.  Practicing my motorcycle riding skills this summer.
4.  Celebrating with friends as they bring new babies into the world.
5.  Hiking to Pikes Peak (hopefully!)
6.  Congratulating a former co-worker on her retirement.
7.  Planting flowers in the Spring.
8.  Finally starting IVF in August.
9.  Working on getting my 6-pack abs back.
10.  Snuggling on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate.
11.  Sending care packages to my husband while he's deployed.
12.  Building the relationships and friendships I have with people.
13.  Taking cake decorating classes with a friend.
14.  White water rafting!
15.  Watching the sun set over the mountains.

There's so much more that I could write, but for now, it's a good start for me.  The only bummer part of 2010 that I can think of is that Hubby will be deploying for a majority of the year...hence why we won't be starting IVF until August.  But heck, that's only 8 months away!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years Eve!  Cheers to what the next 12 months holds for us!

Neighbor Update (and other stuff)

Monday I went in to our friendly housing office to once again complain about the cigarette smoke from the neighbors.  For awhile, it was actually getting better, but lately it has escalated once again.  I blame the cold weather and the fact that our neighbors don't like to go outside and smoke when it's cold (okay...just to clarify, Colorado's version of cold is nowhere near what we had in NoDak.)  And I was thoroughly upset when we came home from a Bible study on Sunday night and found our entire house smelling as though someone was in there smoking while we were away.  So Monday I met with the lady again to find out what could be done.

In a nutshell, here's what we were told:  They called the neighbors and asked what their timeline was for getting a house off-base.  Apparently they told the housing office that they'd be out in 3 months (yeah right.  They've already had 4 months and haven't moved an inch.)  Well, the housing office (HO from now on) told them they could move into a different house here on base.  They refused.  So the HO called us.  They told us about the 3 month timeline from the neighbors and said that we had 2 choices:  we could either stick it out in our current house for the 3 months until the neighbors move, or we could move into a different house here on base.  The only catch is that our 1-year lease would restart.

Yesterday, Hubby and I went to check out the new house.  It's slightly bigger than the one we have now, and all on one level.  The backyard is all jacked up and does need some work (typical for us it seems), but we don't have any wall-sharing neighbors.  From the sound of things, we can either take the house now or wait almost a year for another house to open up and have the military move us.  AKA I'd have to move all by myself again.  We'll be taking the house now and moving shortly (very shortly) after the holidays.  So, unlike Christina, who's neighbors are getting evicted, we're actually moving to escape our all-ready evicted, but can't find a place to live neighbors.

As for other news...I didn't realize it would be such a pain in the tushy to get my medical records for Dr. K!!  I didn't get complete records from Dr. M's office, so I visited them today.  I got a couple more things from them, but still isn't everything I need.  So I've received my records from my HSG, and my stuff from Dr. M.  The only thing I'm missing right now are my surgery pictures which Dr. M's office isn't allowed to give me (yeah...tell me how that works.)  So I've contacted the facility where I had the surgery and am waiting on a call from them.  Pretty sure I'm going to send the papers to Dr. K's office overnight.  I've already waited too long for this stuff.

As far as Christmas goes, I'm completely done shopping (I think).  Wait...nope.  I have one friend to buy for, then I'll be done.  The Christmas cards are in the mail; our one package has been shipped, and our baking list is done and the ingredients are bought.  Christmas dinner's menu is still up in the air, but I really should work on that some since we're having a few people over for that night.  Oh the joys (and stresses) of this time of year!

Oh yeah, and I found out yesterday that I didn't get the job I had the 3 interviews for.  Guess it's back to the job boards once again for me (but maybe I'll wait until after this move).
